Before the storm
Home inventory helper
A photo or video record of your belongings, room by room, makes an insurance claim faster and more complete — and it never leaves your phone.
Walk through your home with your phone’s camera, room by room. For each one, capture what’s listed below. Add a short note if you want a record of roughly what something’s worth or where the receipt is — that stays in this browser only, never uploaded.
Rooms
In every room
- A wide shot of each wall, so the room and everything in it is in frame
- Open every closet, cabinet and drawer
- Serial numbers and model labels on electronics and appliances
- Any receipts or purchase records you still have on hand
- Close-ups of anything high-value
Take the photos with your phone’s own Camera app. They save to your Photos like any picture you take. This site never sees them.
Kitchen
- Major appliances — refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave — including their model/serial plates
- Countertop appliances (mixer, coffee maker, etc.)
Living room
- TV and other electronics
- Furniture
- Artwork and decor
Bedrooms
- Dressers and their contents
- Jewelry

Add a note
What it is, which room, about how much it’s worth, and where the receipt is. Saved in this browser only — nothing is sent anywhere.

A printable page and a plain-text list of your notes, to copy, text, email or print for yourself.
Keep a copy somewhere other than your phone too — a cloud account or with family out of the area — in case the phone itself is lost or damaged (ready.gov, Financial Preparedness and Get Tech Ready).
